Our graduating seniors went back to Ocean City Intermediate School for one day to celebrate a long-delayed milestone: Their 8th grade “clap-out” they didn’t get to have during the pandemic. It was an emotional day as the students reunited with their former teachers and received time capsules and special surprises.

The winning student will receive a $50 check and their t-shirt drawing will be used on this year’s t-shirts for the 4th of July Bike Parade. What an awesome day for our 8th grade National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) members! After sharing some valuable information with Primary School students, they hit the boardwalk for an afternoon of fun! Huge shoutout to our fantastic sponsors for making it all possible: Goofy Golf, Chickie & Pete's, Pisa Pizza, Kohr Bros., and Jillly's Arcade! Our NJHS had a blast wrapping up their journey with these unforgettable moments. Next stop: OCHS!

This morning, our third graders had an exciting visit from eighth grade members of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). The older students shared insights about what to expect at the intermediate school next year. Our third graders asked great questions and are now eagerly anticipating their next big step!

The softball team played their last game of the season last Thursday and secured a great win over Northfield. OC came out on top with a final score of 14 to 4. Jalissa Legette dominated the mound, pitching 5 innings with 14 strikeouts. With 12 stolen bases and a dominating 6-run inning in the 3rd and a 6-run inning in the 5th to finish it, the girls ended their season on a high note. We wish our 8th graders - Marley Dwyer, Jalissa Legette, Ella Ryan, Maddie Aragno, Kendall Barnes and Josie Young, good luck in high school! Great season girls, we are so proud of you!

You will be going to homeroom, then meeting in the library right after to prepare for the trip. See Mrs. Rhoads or Schoology with any questions.
Congratulations to the track and field athletes that participated in the CAl Championship Meet on Tuesday.
The girls’ team came in 6th place out of 14 teams. Many girls PR’d, some broke OCIS team records, and a few girls received medals for placing in the top 3 for their events.
Cameron Curtis received a medal for placing second out of 28 athletes in the long jump with a jump of 15 ft 4.25 inches. Cameron also earned the team points by placing 5th out of 35 in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.4 seconds.
In the 1600, Mallie Heenan earned our team points by placing 5th out of 30 athletes with a time of 6 min. 1 sec. Which is also the OCIS school record.
In the 800, Ava Clevenger earned a medal for placing 3rd out of 34 athletes with a time of 2 min. 36.4 sec. Which is also a new school record.
In the Shot Put, Noelle Nnewihe earned a medal for placing 3rd out of 28 athletes throwing 26.2 feet
For the boys, in discus, Kaiden Grim earned a medal for placing 1st overall out of 40 athletes throwing 112 feet.
Any girls that would like to see their times and places, I will have the sheet posted outside my classroom door.
All of the Ocean City Track & Field Athletes did a fantastic job this season. We are proud of each and every one of you. Can’t wait till next year!

Congratulations to 6th Grader Mallie Heenan for setting a new school record in the 20 meter PACER test. Mallie ran an amazing 114 laps, surpassing the previous school record of 111 laps. She has had her sights set on breaking the record all school year and this marking period she made it happen! Way to go Mallie!

The baseball team picked up a 7 to 3 victory over Dennis Township yesterday. Alex Whitworth started the scoring with a double that scored 2 runs. Michael Stankiewicz pitched 6 great innings. He also broke the game open with a bases loaded clearing double. The boys move to 5 and 3 on the season. The season will finish Thursday with a game at home against Northfield at 3:45. Come out to support the boys!

The boys' baseball team moved to 4 and 3 on the season with a win over Margate yesterday. Alex Whitworth started the game and Paxton Brunetti pitched the last 3 innings and both had outstanding outings on the mound. The boy's hitting was too much for Margate as they pulled away in the bottom of the 6th winning 13-3 as Andrew Valentine scored the final run of the game! The boys season continues against Northfield tomorrow at home and finishes up at Dennis Township on Monday.
