PUBLIC NOTICE

The OCEAN CITY BOARD OF EDUCATION, pursuant to the provisions of the "Open Public Meetings Act" (P.L.1975, C231), has changed the date of their Regular Meeting originally scheduled for August 1, 2024.  The meeting is rescheduled to Thursday, July 18, 2024.  This meeting will be held in the Ocean City High School Library/Media Center located at 501 Atlantic Avenue in Ocean City, New Jersey.  The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. for an Executive Session (not open to the public) followed by the Regular Meeting which will begin at 7:00 p.m.  An Executive Session will be held, and action will be taken.

About the Board

The Board of Education is composed of nine citizens elected from Ocean City and three representatives from Upper Township who are appointed by the Upper Township Board of Education. As Board members, they establish policies and oversight for the Ocean City School District. 

Board members fulfill three-year terms (Upper Township representatives serve for one-year terms) and voluntarily serve the residents and children of the Ocean City School District. These Board members make important decisions that affect the educational offerings for our children, but welcome and encourage the public to take an active role in the educational process as well. Members of the community are invited to attend all Board meetings.

The Ocean City Board of Education meeting dates are listed below, which also includes minutes from prior meetings. Meetings of the Board of Education will be held in the Community Room in the Ocean City High School, 501 Atlantic Avenue, Ocean City, New Jersey, unless otherwise noted.
