OCIS kept bike safety awareness rolling with October events. 🚲🚦 We celebrated National Walk & Roll to School Day, held educational presentations with the Ocean City Police Department and the Cross County Connection Transportation Management Association, and encouraged students to take the Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Pledge.

Mrs. Ruffenach & Mrs. Pepe’s 5th grade classes, & Mrs. Duffey recently read “Winds of Hope” from their HMH Into Reading series, a nonfiction story about William Kamkwamba, who built a windmill to power his village in Malawi. Students learned about cause and effect and, created paper windmills to show the causes and effects from the story, and even tested them using wind power, just like William!
