Week 3 of OCIS summer programs wrapped up with many fun events for the students! They had the opportunity to make lemonade, practice handstands, and the summer STEM program even visited the Woodbine Airport. What an eventful and exciting week for students and staff!

OCIS officially wrapped up week 2 of the summer programs! Students in the Summer 21st Century Challenge Program enjoyed a visit from the Margate Terrapin Rescue Project to learn about the importance of conservation of local wildlife. The group can't wait to see what's in store for the upcoming week!

Last week marked the start of summer programs at OCIS! Students and staff had a great week kicking off the summer season. Stay tuned for the many exciting events and activities planned throughout the upcoming weeks!

Our 8th grade class took one last pass down the halls of OCIS - complete with their own farewell clap-out by fellow students and their favorite teachers and staff. Students were celebrated for all their achievements throughout their time at the intermediate school and wished best of luck in high school!

MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS: Monday, June 10, 2024 Any students that have books checked out from the library, please return them now. We need to prepare for next year. This week we will have early dismissal days on June 11th, 12th & 13th at 12:10pm. The 8th grade promotion ceremony will be this Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 4pm. MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS: Thursday, June 6, 2024 We had beautiful conditions on the Duke O Fluke on Monday. Captain Dave, and first mate Thomas, worked hard to get us on the fishing grounds. In 1st place with 88 points: Kayla McCarthy, Cooper Lloyd, Ava Clevenger and Brittany Fraga. Thank you to our wonderful PTA for supplying the first and second place teams with awesome prizes from Surfer Supplies & Heritage Surf Shop. Our graduating seniors went back to Ocean City Intermediate School for one day to celebrate a long-delayed milestone: Their 8th grade “clap-out” they didn’t get to have during the pandemic. It was an emotional day as the students reunited with their former teachers and received time capsules and special surprises.

What an awesome day for our 8th grade National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) members! After sharing some valuable information with Primary School students, they hit the boardwalk for an afternoon of fun! Huge shoutout to our fantastic sponsors for making it all possible: Goofy Golf, Chickie & Pete's, Pisa Pizza, Kohr Bros., and Jillly's Arcade! Our NJHS had a blast wrapping up their journey with these unforgettable moments. Next stop: OCHS!

This morning, our third graders had an exciting visit from eighth grade members of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). The older students shared insights about what to expect at the intermediate school next year. Our third graders asked great questions and are now eagerly anticipating their next big step!

MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS: Tuesday May 28, 2024 Attention 4th & 5th grade tech club and newspaper club. We will have our last meeting today. Attention 4th & 5th grade after school sports. We will join tomorrow, Wednesday May 29th for 4th & 5th grade flag football. The softball team played their last game of the season last Thursday and secured a great win over Northfield. OC came out on top with a final score of 14 to 4. Jalissa Legette dominated the mound, pitching 5 innings with 14 strikeouts. With 12 stolen bases and a dominating 6-run inning in the 3rd and a 6-run inning in the 5th to finish it, the girls ended their season on a high note. We wish our 8th graders - Marley Dwyer, Jalissa Legette, Ella Ryan, Maddie Aragno, Kendall Barnes and Josie Young, good luck in high school! Great season girls, we are so proud of you! Congratulations to the top 6 groups in 8th grade moving on in Battle of the Books.
