Starting today the yearbook will be conducting a holiday countdown to reveal the theme and cover of this year’s book. Be sure to check out our instagram every other day till the 12th to se what’s unwrapped.
If you plan on participating in the 3v3 basketball tournament for the Intramural Club, you need to get your forms to Ms. Kelly in F107 this week. Forms are outside room F107 and in main gym. Come on, have some fun!
Attention all NHS members, there is a mandatory general meeting for all members this Thursday in the auditorium. If you cannot attend, please contact Mrs.Georges or an officer. Please be prompt as we have a lot to discuss!

Want to earn a pajama day in January? Our goal is 1000 items! Join OC Minds Matter in collecting items for people experiencing homelessness in Cape May County with Sheets and Shears Non-Profit. Let's spread support in our community this holiday!
What is Empathy? It is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another person, either by recognizing their emotions or experiencing them yourself. Join Miss Montello and the Wellness team in practicing empathy this holiday season!
Interact club will be meeting Tuesday 12-3 during both flex A & B.

Tryouts for the Rainbow 6 Siege Team will be held during flex A & B on Tuesday, 12/3. You need your completed Siege permission slip to tryout. Sign up in Adaptive Scheduler.
Any student who takes the Longport bus home will be dismissed at 12:30 today. An announcement will be made at that time

ASL Club Practice today FLEX B! Please make every effort to attend - our Holiday Concert is getting close!
Tomorrow is the Annual Powderpuff football game starting after lunch. Anyone playing in the game tomorrow, please stop down to B111 during lunch/flex to pick up your jersey.
Attention all students interested in applying to a military academy! On TUESDAY 11/26 @ 1PM there will be an information session. Any student interested in attending please message Mrs. Oves toves@ocsdnj.org. The meeting will be in the college and career center.

11/22/2024 Morning Announcements
Girls' basketball tryouts will be held Mon 11/25 & Tues 11/26 for all grade levels. Both days will be at the OC Intermediate School from 3:00-5:15. All athletes must be cleared to tryout.
Attention Girls basketball players - on Monday and Tuesday there will be a bus taking athletes to the Intermediate School. Please be at the glass doors by the auditorium after school.
There is a small window to sign up for the 1st ever Intramural Club 3v3 basketball tourney. Staff teams are needed as well! Forms are outside F107 and in the gym. Games need to start the week of Dec 9th. See Ms. Kelly in F107 for more details.


11/21/2024 Morning Announcements
Boys basketball tryouts will be held next Mon & Tues for 10-12 grade athletes from 3-5. Freshmen tryouts will be Tue. Nov. 26 from 3-4:30. All athletes must be cleared to tryout. If you have any questions about clearance, see the nurse immediately.
Attention all Freshmen boys trying out for basketball. There will be a tryout on Mon. Nov. 25th. You will meet with Mr. Ballezzi in the high school main gym to verify clearance. Tryouts will be held at the Civic Center from 3:15 - 4:30.
Thank you to everyone who showed for yesterday’s doubles pickleball. Congrats to Gabe Merton and Brendan Sardy for taking the win! It was a good start to the club. Next tourney will be 3v3 basketball. See Ms. Kelly in F107 for details.
CLA will be meeting today after school in C109. Today's discussion will be about school rules and policies. Hope to see you there!

The doubles pickleball tourney is tomorrow after school at 3 pm at the Intermediate School on the outdoor courts. Sign-up forms are outside F107 and the girls PE office. It’s $2 per team. Get your form to F107 before period 5 tomorrow to play
Model UN will be continuing discussions on Additive Manufacturing this Wednesday after school in room A233. Bring your friends!

11/18/24 Morning Announcements
Hello OCHS! The yearbook is conducting its first fall music survey. Your responses will help create a playlist for the yearbook’s fall section. To make your mark, find the QR code on Schoology, our Instagram, or on the homeroom slides.
Tryouts for winter cheer will be held Monday, November 25th and Tuesday, November 26th after school in the dance gym. Sign up using the QR codes and see Ms. Patel with any questions.
There will be a doubles pickleball tournament Wednesday, Nov 20th at the Intermediate School at 3 pm. Your choice of doubles and staff/faculty are welcome to play. Forms need to be in today because brackets need to be made. Please see Ms. Kelly in F107 to sign up
Attention ALL current and soon to be inducted NHS members. There is a MANDATORY Induction Ceremony rehearsal on Wednesday, November 20th in the auditorium immediately after school. Contact Mrs. Georges or an officer if you cannot attend.
If there are any freshman girls interested in playing basketball who have not signed up already, please see Mrs. Henry in room B102 during Flex 1 today, Monday or Tuesday.
It's that time of the year again! Stop in The Nest and make a holiday card for a local veteran. Last year, over 300 cards were made. The last day to make a card will be Tuesday, December 3rd.
The Literary Magazine will hold a pop-up thrift shop on Monday, 11/25. Stop by Scioli's room (B211) during either flex to shop for clothing, accessories, books, wall art, craft supplies, and more. Everything is under $10, and we accept cash or Venmo.
This spring, the Esports Club is competing in Rainbow 6 Siege against other high schools in the High School Esports League. If you are interested in joining our team, you must have a completed club permission slip, a special Siege permission slip, be 16+ and try out. You cannot try out without your completed permission slips. Tryouts will be in December. Exact dates to follow. If you have questions or need to pick up a permission slip, please see Mrs. Buono in C216.
Boys interested in trying out for swimming must be cleared by the nurse by Friday, November 22nd. Tryouts will be 11/25 and 11/26 at the Ocean City Fitness and Aquatic center at 3PM. There will be a bus from high school to pool.

The repaving of West Avenue from North Street to Ninth Street will begin on Monday. Weather permitting, the work schedule will be:
• Monday, Nov. 18: Milling and grading from North Street to Second Street
• Tuesday, Nov. 19: Paving from North Street to Second Street
• Wednesday, Nov. 20: Milling and grading from Second Street to Fifth Street
• Thursday, Nov. 21: Paving from Second Street to Fifth Street
• Friday, Nov. 22: Milling and grading from Sixth Street to Ninth Street
• Monday, Nov. 25: Paving from Sixth Street to Ninth Street
Please do not park in these zones from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. during construction, and use caution in the area.

Week of Respect at Ocean City High School!





The Ocean City School District, in collaboration with Mainland Regional, Greater Egg Harbor Regional, Egg Harbor Township, and Cape May County Special Services school districts, will be hosting their first Cape Atlantic League (CAL) Unified Sports 5K Run & Walk on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024. The route will begin at the Transportation Center at 9th Street and Haven Avenue in Ocean City, travel the length of the Route 52 causeway, and end at the John F. Kennedy Park in Somers Point. Proceeds from the 5K benefit the CAL Unified Sports program, fostering inclusivity between our special education athletes and their peers.
