Parents and guardians can tour classrooms, meet teachers and staff, and learn about the curriculum and activities
Ocean City, NJ – Ocean City Primary School (OCPS) will host parents and guardians for a preschool program open house on May 6. Families will tour classrooms, meet teachers, and learn about the early-education curriculum and activities.
“The skills taught through our preschool program are vital to a positive educational career,” said Ocean City School District (OCSD) Director of Student Services Dr. Lauren Gunther. “We’re excited to show families in our communities how we’re providing students with the foundation for success.”
The event will be held at 3:15 p.m. just after the regular school day ends.
The OCPS preschool program offers a nurturing and stimulating learning environment, fostering children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
“This program and the district as a whole are committed to preparing children for success in school and beyond,” said OCSD Superintendent Dr. Christian Angelillo. “The preschool years lay the groundwork for positive childhood development and readiness for school, and our staff helps strengthen the skills of our littlest learners.”
The full day preschool program uses The Creative Curriculum, one of the research-based structures recommended by the New Jersey Department of Education. The curriculum helps children learn through studies, and hands-on and project-based investigations.
Per state guidelines, each class has a maximum of 15 students to ensure students receive one-on-one attention. The typical preschool day contains a balance of small-group and whole-group activities, including fine and gross motor skill development, and student choice work, while allowing ample time for daily routines.
