Ocean City Intermediate School’s new principal Matthew Engle and the new Director of Special Education Services Jacqueline Kulinski are excited to join the district

Ocean City, N.J. - Ocean City School District's (OCSD) Board of Education (BOE) welcomes two administrators this summer: Matthew Engle as Ocean City Intermediate School (OCIS) Principal and Jaqueline Kulinski as Director of Special Education Services. Both were approved at the BOE meeting on June 20.

Engle worked as the Director of Student Achievement at the Upper Township School District. While at Upper Township, he also served as an instrumental music teacher for grades 5 to 8 and was the middle school’s band director. Engle also taught music for the Hammonton Public School District and the Lampeter-Strasburg School District in Lampeter, PA.

He graduated from the University of Scranton with a Master of Science in Education Administration. He earned a Bachelor of Music Education and Music Performance at West Chester University, with the French Horn as his major instrument and Voice as his minor instrument.

At the BOE meeting, Engle said he was looking forward to working with the OCSD.

“I am honored to be joining Ocean City School District as principal of the Intermediate School,” said Engle. “Ocean City schools have a long-standing tradition of excellence, and I am committed to continuing this legacy by partnering with our hard-working teachers and staff, students, parents, and extended community to create an environment that fosters academic achievement, personal growth, and a love for learning. I am excited to work with our school community to help our students at OCIS reach their full potential while making the upcoming school year a remarkable and successful one.”

Kulinski is excited to join the OCSD, too, and has many years of experience in special education. She has worked as the Director of Special Education for the Buena Regional School District since 2019, and prior to this, was the high school vice principal. Kulinski was also the school psychologist at Highland Regional High School from 2009 to 2018.

Kulinski graduated from Rowan University with an ED. S in school psychology and a Master of Arts in school psychology. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Towson University with a major in psychology and a minor in family studies.

Kulinski, an Ocean City resident and the mother of fifth-grade twins, is excited to continue her career at OCSD.

“I am honored to continue my career as the new Director of Special Education for the district, bringing my experience and passion for supporting students while providing the education they deserve,” said Kulinski. “I look forward to working with the staff, parents, and community to continue to make Ocean City’s education exceptional for all learners.”

OCSD’s interim superintendent Terrence Crowley is pleased to have Engle and Kulinski join the district.

“Both Matthew Engle and Jacqueline Kulinski presented themselves as experienced individuals who will contribute to OCSD’s outstanding education,” said Crowley. “We are looking forward to working with them.”
