About the Board

The Board of Education is composed of nine citizens elected from Ocean City and three representatives from Upper Township who are appointed by the Upper Township Board of Education. As Board members, they establish policies and oversight for the Ocean City School District. 

Board members fulfill three-year terms (Upper Township representatives serve for one-year terms) and voluntarily serve the residents and children of the Ocean City School District. These Board members make important decisions that affect the educational offerings for our children, but welcome and encourage the public to take an active role in the educational process as well. Members of the community are invited to attend all Board meetings.

The Ocean City Board of Education meeting dates are listed below, which also includes minutes from prior meetings. Meetings of the Board of Education will be held in the Library / Media Center in the Ocean City High School, 501 Atlantic Avenue, Ocean City, New Jersey, unless otherwise noted.
